Designer tells

Norwegian Icons is a sales exhibition that displays Norwegian art & design from the 1900's, with a primary focus on the years 1940 to 1975.
Norwegian Icons aims to raise the international awareness of Norway's significant contribution to the Scandinavian Mid-Century period, alongside that of Denmark, Sweden and Finland. The exhibition displays significant designers and their design icons of the period, all of which have been of great importance to Norwegian design history, as well as introducing work from essential modern artists of the same era, starting with Edvard Munch and onwards.

Norwegian producers have a long tradition of creating top quality furniture and interior design. We want to make this quality available internationally. Norwegian Icons therefore collaborates with leading companies in the production of iconic Norwegian design. The focus on quality, proximity to nature, materials and functionality are all important cornerstones for these companies.
