How did you interpret the design brief and your specific moment?
We were given the moment 12:48; a time when most of us are at work, but also a natural time to take a break. For many people, coffee is a highlight in their everyday lives, something they look forward to. They often have clearly defined habits when it comes to their coffee break, and this was our starting point.

We wanted to accentuate the coffee drinking ritual and increase the feeling of treating yourself to something special in your daily life. People’s preferences are different: the perfect amount of coffee, the ideal drinking temperature, how we like the cup to feel in our hand. So we decided to try to include "everyone’s" favorite cup.

The result is a family of six similar, yet very different cups, a milk and sugar set, and two trays. The rounded shapes, smooth wood and delicate porcelain feel good to touch. We experimented with creating a marbled effect by mixing stained porcelain when casting. This underlines the fact that the cups belong together, yet each and every one is unique.
