Designer tells

How is your product related to the design brief; the box and the items in it?
For me the box was mainly an inspiration in materials and combination of materials. I chose not to focus on the individual objects, but I have worked with several of the same materials in my projects; wood, ceramics & wood.

Can you tell us a little bit about your product?
I have designed two new products Tangent & Grow, both on the theme; visual balance. The rounded silhouette of the Grow pots balance on an apparently ordinary piece of wood. The shape of the pots grow from the tangent point and all the way up, providing plenty of internal space to grow herbs and plants. The grow series is ideal for a little home garden of herbs and creating various installations with the pots. The pots are made at one of the few ceramic manufacturers in Norway, located in the southeastern part of the country. The clay in this area is ideal for pottery and sourced from right outside the factory.

How has your process been?
This fall I am exhibiting in Oslo, London & Tokyo, so I started developing concepts this winter to give my self enough time to develop good concepts and to produce them in the intended materials. This will be my 4th year exhibiting in London, so I am glad that for the first time I can show the prototypes in Norway first.
