Designer tells

How is your product related to the design brief; the box and the items in it?
The content of the box reminded me of my childhood treasures. It represented playfulness, sensuality and the idea of objects as mediators of memories. I was inspired to work playfully, intuitively and with a sensual focus.

Can you tell us a little bit about your product?
Bloom is a series of three table lamps inspired by forms from the nature. Like big drops, the shades may be associated with buds, fruits or water, while the seams in the construction are reminiscent of fibers. The steel structures have different heights, which contribute to the association of organic bodies.

How has your process been?
During the process I played with memories and associations and combined two-dimensional and three-dimensional expressions. I worked with textile print on silk and canvas, before processing textile and steel into three-dimensional objects. Four objects were worked on in parallel, and I completed two of them for this exhibition.
