Norwegian Presence is the result of the collaboration between Klubben, Norwegian Crafts and Norwegian Icons. The three groups have come together to showcase the best of what Norwegian handcraft and design – both past and present – have to offer. In a rough factory space in Ventura Lambrate the visitors can experience the great diversity of design approaches, innovation, skills, and material. Featuring 51 different products from 46 designers and artisans, the exhibition is a looking glass into an exciting corner of the world.
Set against the colours of paint manufacturer Jotun, the internationally acclaimed stylists Kråkvik & D’Orazio have played with each of the exhibited products in a landscape not unlike the country itself: Walls, like the mountains and valleys that separate this vast country’s population, divide the space yet invite visitors to take a tour of the land.
Welcome to Verdi, a curated sales exhibition at Norway Designs. The exhibition opens Thursday September 25th and will last for one whole month.
The exhibition is a cooperation between Klubben, the Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts and Norway Designs– one of the oldest and most renown design shops in Oslo. The exhibition will show objects spanning from unique prototypes, to small scale produced items and mass produced products.
This weekend members of Klubben are showing their work during London Design Festival.

Martin Solem is there with Plywood Profiles, his graduation project from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

We are so proud and happy to welcome four new members to Klubben! The talented designers are Vera K. Kleppe and Åshild Kyte, from studio Vera & Kyte, and Morten Skjærpe Knarrum and Jonas Norheim from studio Morten & Jonas. All our new members are located in Bergen, Norway. They are also busy and hard-working designers, with a lot of exciting projects going on!
Both studios showed work in Milan and at ICFF New York this spring, and they will be part of the 100% Norway exhibition in September.
Vera & Kyte will have their own stand at Tent during London Design Festival 2014. They will also exhibit at Formex in Stockholm in August, after being nominated for the Nova Design Award – Nordic Designer of the Year.
Morten & Jonas are currently working on the exhibition design for Craft 2014, the annual juried exhibition by the Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts, opening at KODE 1 in Bergen in September. This autumn the duo will also launch the lamp series “Morse” with Danish furniture brand Bolia.
At May 18th Klubben was part of Norwegian Design Night at at NeueHouse in Manhattan, an exhibition and event curated and hosted together with the Norwegian Consulate General and Norwegian Icons, as the launch of Insidenorway 2014 at ICFF.
The event presented Norwegian design from 1940-2014; a one-night-only selection of contemporary Norwegian design side by side with Norwegian design heritage. The exhibition featured mid-century design together with iconic contemporary items, showing a diversity in exploring materials, function and expressions. Most of the presented objects are in production. The various items were displayed on customized podiums designed by everything-elevated, a Norwegian design studio based in Brooklyn.
